Strategic cooperation set up between IC and Ellwanger & Geiger
Unterschleißheim near Munich, 17 February 2012 – IC Immobilien Gruppe and banking company Ellwanger & Geiger have set up a strategic cooperation. As part of this cooperation, Ellwanger & Geiger will, from now on, make use of the property management services provided by the IC Gruppe, whilst IC can draw on Ellwanger & Geiger’s expertise in its market-ing and leasing activities. Furthermore, IC will acquire Ellwanger & Geiger Immobilien Management GmbH. This acquisition will strengthen IC’s na-tionwide presence in the German property management sector and demon-strates the group’s further expansion, particularly in the south of Germany.
“The cooperation is beneficial to both companies. IC is incredibly competent when it comes to property management,” says Mario Caroli from Ellwanger & Geiger. He adds, “Ellwanger & Geiger can now reliably draw on this com-petence in close partnership”. “Ellwanger & Geiger is a banking company with a high level of expertise in real estate. Its products and services are targeted at both private and institutional investors. We can now better sup-port our customers by being able to capitalise on Ellwanger & Geiger’s pro-fessional knowledge of marketing and communicating real estate,” remarks Oliver Priggemeyer, CEO of the IC Gruppe.
“Ellwanger & Geiger and IC are both medium-sized companies. This has the advantage of short lines of communication when collaborating, which is particularly beneficial for decision-making processes. There is direct contact between senior staff and management. As a result, there are no long and complicated coordination processes,” explains Caroli. “As part of our col-laboration, it is of great importance to us that working processes function smoothly and are aligned with one another in order to avoid any losses due to friction. A reliable and trusting cooperation is therefore just as important as being able to utilise the various strengths of each partner.
The medium-sized structure of both companies is extremely helpful in this regard. It should also be added that Mario Caroli and I have known each other for around 15 years and are extremely acquainted with each other,” continues Priggemeyer.
“With the acquisition of the property management business area from Ellwanger & Geiger we are continuing to implement our growth strategy and are even exceeding our goals,” says Priggemeyer, adding “We had strived for a managed assets volume of around 10 billion euros by the end of 2011. With the purchase of the property management division from Ellwanger & Geiger we are now managing around 12 billion euros of real estate assets which makes us one of the market leaders in Asset & Property Management. This additional purchase allows us to consolidate our network in Germany. Besides the metropolises we are also reaching smaller towns and cities across the country. This, in turn, means that we are continuing to gather pace on the market,” expresses Priggemeyer.
