IC Immobilien Gruppe lets 8,000 square metres of retail space in City Center Eisenhüttenstadt

IC Immobilien Gruppe has let around 8,000 square metres of retail space in the City Center shopping centre it manages at Nordpassage 1 in Eisenhüttenstadt. The centre’s new tenant is the grocery discounter Penny. The drugstore chain Rossmann, which  already had a presence in City Center, has opened a modern new store at another location within the centre. The new leases with Rossmann and Penny commenced in February and March 2017 respectively. In addition to providing letting services, IC Immobilien Gruppe is also responsible for the centre’s renovation programme on behalf of the property’s owner, BBV Immobilien-Fonds Nr. 10 GmbH & Co. KG.

“We are delighted that Rossmann and Penny have already moved into their new premises following the successful completion of the first phase of our renovation programme, and that City Center is back to being a full-scale shopping centre,” said Heiko Dietel, Managing Director of IC Immobilien Service GmbH, an IC Immobilien Gruppe subsidiary. “With these new stores from the grocery discounter and drugstore chain, the starting signal has been given for additional openings to follow. A number of new stores will open their doors in April, including retailers such as Woolworths and mister*lady. The grocery retailer Edeka is launching in May, along with a new Pfennigpfeiffer store, both of which will further strengthen City Center’s market position.”

Built in 1993, this retail property has been undergoing a programme of renovation since early 2016. At around 30,500 square metres, City Center is Dresden’s largest shopping centre and a key component of the region.
